About this board game

Chickapig is a strategic abstract board game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. Each player aims to get all six of their chickapigs off the board first.

Success depends on coordinating your chickapigs with hay bales and the cow, using them to help your flock reach its goal. At the same time, you can play defense against opponents with your pieces, creating an ongoing contest between advancing your own chickapigs and disrupting other flocks.

The cow adds an especially unruly twist to every game. Use it to drop poop in an opponent’s way, then watch out: whenever a chickapig goes over poop, its player must take a poop card, and these cards are always bad. Daisy cards, by contrast, are always good, offering a welcome counterpoint to the hazards on the board.

  • Play with 2–4 players.
  • Race six chickapigs off the board to win.
  • Coordinate chickapigs, hay bales, and the cow.
  • Use defense and poop to hinder opponents.
  • Draw from always-bad poop cards and always-good daisy cards.

Chickapig combines strategic planning with enough chance to keep everyone competitive. The result is a race filled with positioning, interference, and unpredictable setbacks, where a carefully planned escape can be complicated by an opponent—or by an inconvenient pile of poop.
