About this board game
Chicken Chicken is a fast card game for 2–8 players that takes about 20 minutes to play. Stack egg, hen, and fox cards in a playful story of disappearing eggs, hunting foxes, and frantic reactions.
The rules begin simply: the cards are stacked randomly, with each new card hiding the others. Watch the pile closely and count the eggs. As soon as five eggs are present, be the first player to hit the pile and win one point.
But the visible story can change the count. When a hen passes by while an egg is in the pile, the hen sits on that egg, causing it to disappear. If a fox then passes by while a hen is sitting, the fox hunts the hen and the egg comes back.
- Eggs: Count them carefully as the pile grows.
- Hens: They sit on an egg, making it disappear.
- Foxes: They hunt a sitting hen and bring the egg back.
- Other characters: Additional interventions can make the story even less predictable.
Chicken Chicken turns a straightforward counting challenge into a quick test of attention and timing. Every card can alter what you should be counting, so players must follow the evolving pile rather than simply wait for five uncovered eggs.
Win three points to win the game. First released as Poule Poule in 2019, Chicken Chicken promises lively competition and an outburst of laughter for players who love—or hate—omelets.
