About this board game

Chickwood Forest is a 2017 board game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes to play. Players scout castles, seek valuable targets, raid for treasure, and give alms in a race to earn the most glory.

During the game, players play cards from their hands to the castles. Some cards are placed face up, while others are placed face down, creating uncertainty as everyone considers which castle might offer the greatest reward—and which might contain a nasty surprise.

After scouting, each player raids one castle. The goal is to steal its precious treasure, but every raid carries the possibility of an unwelcome discovery. Choosing where to strike is an important part of pursuing glory.

Once players have gathered riches, they can give to the poor by placing their alms on the village cards. This shows who is the most generous and adds another way for players to demonstrate their ambitions during the game.
