Chroma Mix

About this board game

Chroma Mix is an economic action retrieval game for 1–4 players, playable in about 45 minutes. In this 2024 card game, players use color cards, mix pigments, and pursue one of three different ways to win.

On each turn, play a card from your hand and resolve its effects. Played cards remain in your play area until you choose a Refill action to pick them up again, creating a cycle of action and retrieval across the game.

The central mechanism is color mixing. A Mix card lets you take two colors from your hand and combine them into one of the available colors in the market rows. Colors follow their pigment values in the CMYK color system: for example, Soft Cyan (1,0,0) combined with Light Yellow (0,0,1) produces Jungle (1,0,1).

Mixing is the main way to upgrade cards into stronger colors. With rapid turns but agonizing decisions, you must decide when to play cards, when to retrieve them, and how to develop your hand through the available market options.

Victory can come through any of three conditions:

• Have 17 or more Victory Points.
• Mix all three Rank IV cards.
• Have 17 or more cards in hand while the correct card is in play.

With only 85 cards, Chroma Mix delivers a compact experience for one to four players. Its color system, action retrieval structure, and multiple win conditions give every turn a meaningful choice as you work toward the finish.
