About this board game

City of Iron is a civilization-building board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Set in a world of machines, magic, and money, it challenges players to lead rival nations and build an enduring empire.

Choose from four distinctive nations: the industrious humans, toad engineers, scholarly Cresarians, or clever hogmen. Develop your cities and decide how your nation will grow, whether through a powerful economy, advanced technology, recruited mercenaries, or direct conquest.

Produce goods such as machine parts and bottled demons to gain wealth, or research steam-age technology to expand your capabilities. A unique twist on deck-building lets you customize two decks as you shape your nation’s path and pursue your chosen approach to the contest.

Expansion requires careful planning. To establish new cities, build schooners or airships capable of reaching faraway lands and flying islands. Because each city has limited capacity, constructing advanced structures may require difficult choices about what to keep and what to demolish.
