About this board game
Ciúb is a dice-driven game for 2–4 players, played in about 45 minutes. At the yearly gathering of magicians, players seek the aid of magical creatures, use the abilities of their dice, and compete to create the Opus Magnum.
Each round, you try to make your dice show the combination required by one of the available spell cards. Successfully matching a spell lets you gain victory points, while the different faces on the various dice provide abilities to help guide your plans.
- Roll and use dice to pursue spell-card combinations.
- Draw on the abilities provided by magical creatures and different die faces.
- Gain victory points by acquiring spells.
- Plan around changing dice pools as spells are gained.
After gaining a spell, you will usually need to reduce the number of dice you have. This makes forward planning essential: a choice that helps you secure points now may affect the combinations you can pursue in the next round. The power of the dice can never be underestimated.
As the gathering continues, valuable spell cards and clever use of your available dice shape each player’s path toward the crowning achievement of their craft. When the game ends, the player with the most victory points wins. With its blend of dice combinations, special abilities, and changing possibilities, Ciúb puts magical ambition—and careful planning—to the test.
