About this board game
Clacks: A Discworld Board Game is a 30-minute game for 1–4 players, based on the semaphore messaging system from Sir Terry Pratchett’s novel Going Postal. Players take part in a race from Ankh-Morpork to Genua, competing to become the fastest Clacks operator on the line.
The Clacks is the Discworld’s fastest non-magical messaging system. Its network uses shuttered lamps mounted on high towers, allowing messages to travel across long distances on the Unnamed Continent. With towers covering much of the region, the Grand Trunk Semaphore Company has transformed communication across the Disc.
Now, however, the old postal service is fighting back. Driven by the determination of newly “volunteered” Post Master Moist Von Lipwig, the Ankh-Morpork Post Office has challenged the Clacks operators to a race. The outcome will help prove whether Clacks is here to stay.
Clacks: A Discworld Board Game offers several ways to take part in the contest:
- Player versus player: Compete against your friends to claim the title of Fastest Clacks Operator on the line.
- Co-operative race: Work together as a team to win the race across the Discworld against the Post Office.
- Children’s introductory game: A version designed to introduce younger players to the game.
Whether you are racing your friends or joining forces against the Post Office, this Discworld board game brings the distinctive Clacks communication system to the tabletop in a compact race experience.
