About this board game
Club Stories is a scenario-based tactical football board game for 1–2 players, playable solo or cooperatively, with an average play time of 90 minutes. You take charge of a very small club and begin your journey as an unknown football expert trying to earn recognition.
The game presents five scenarios that must be played in order, with each one introducing its own story and challenge. Winning can allow you to move on to a bigger club, while replaying scenarios gives you the chance to beat your high score and reach higher levels of professionalism.
Each scenario takes place over 8–10 rounds. On every turn, you use six dice to plan your actions, with a realistic push-your-luck system that lets you increase your chances up to 100%. Your decisions can shape the club’s progress throughout the season.
Every turn begins with a board meeting, where your three board members make a decision about a dilemma. Their opinions differ, so choosing the right members matters. You can also attend the meeting and use your dice to influence its outcome.
- Hire players, staff, sponsors, and scouts.
- Send scouts to watch opponents or potential players.
- Train tactics, choose your approach, select your team, and play the match.
- Manage income, fitness, morale, and popularity.
Keep these four tracks as high as possible, since poor levels can bring trouble, such as more frequent player suspensions when morale is low. Your form may help you finish higher in the league, but bigger clubs may also show greater interest in your players.
Scenario goals range from avoiding relegation and removing corruption to completing a new stadium on time. In Club Stories, earning enough manager points during the season is the key to proving yourself.
