About this board game

Colors of Kasane is a card game for 3–4 players that takes about 25 minutes, in which players create beautiful kimonos by placing colored cards next to one another.

Every five years, an exceptional competition brings the Empire’s most elegant young girls to the Emperor’s court. After succeeding in events across the provinces, the finalists face the final challenge: creating subtle fabric overlays and adorning themselves with sumptuous kimonos to impress their sovereign.

Players collect and place cards one by one, selecting the colors they want to use for their designs. The central challenge is that cards in hand cannot simply be rearranged. Instead, players must use them as they come, turning each decision about placement into an important part of the competition.

Across twelve rounds, players develop their kimono designs and seek the most attractive combinations. The game rewards careful planning while keeping the focus on the evolving arrangement of colored cards.
