About this expansion
Combat Commander: Mediterranean is a 2007 expansion for two players, with an expected play time of 120 minutes. It adds three new nationalities to the Combat Commander series and requires Combat Commander: Europe to play.
The expansion focuses on Britain and the Commonwealth, France and the Allied Minors, and Italy and the Axis Minors. It includes units, cards, maps, and scenarios depicting the fighting forces of these nations, broadening the possibilities for Combat Commander engagements.
Each nationality receives its own 72-card Fate Deck, reflecting distinctive historical strengths and weaknesses. British cards emphasize marksmanship, with fewer but higher-quality shots; broken Italian units are more likely to surrender; and the French receive quality Orders, Actions, and Events while having only a “1” discard capability.
The Playbook contains 12 new historical scenarios, each featuring at least one of the three new nationalities. Its updated Random Scenario Generator adds the new factions and twelve maps while supporting the earlier years of the fighting in 1939 and 1940, creating a wide variety of map layouts, force structures, and combat situations.
- A complete manifest of all 432 Fate Cards in Combat Commander: Europe and Mediterranean
- Assigned point values for units, weapons, radios, and fortifications from both modules
- Additional designer’s notes, play hints, and player aids
- Six double-sided maps, providing twelve maps in total
With 352 large counters, 140 small counters, 216 cards, a 32-page Playbook, and a 24-page Rulebook, Combat Commander: Mediterranean provides substantial new material for creating and replaying historical and custom scenarios.
