About this board game

Conan Collectible Card Game is a 30-minute collectible card game for 2–9 players, released in 2006, in which each player guides their own version of Conan toward the throne of Aquilonia.

The goal is to become King of Aquilonia by gaining renown through the defeat of enemies. Foes arrive in varying strengths and attempt to flank your Conan card, inflicting as many hits as possible. If Conan’s health reaches 0, you lose.

Each confrontation presents a choice in how to face the danger: send many weaker foes against Conan, or challenge him with one or two major enemies. The game’s combat system centers on comparing icons along the sides of the moves and maneuvers performed by Conan and his enemies. These comparisons determine whether attacks result in hits, misses, or blocks.

  • Compete with 2–9 players in a Conan-themed card game.
  • Gain renown by defeating enemies.
  • Protect Conan from enemies attempting to flank him.
  • Resolve combat by comparing icons on moves and maneuvers.
  • Choose between facing numerous weak foes or a small number of powerful enemies.

The game’s setting and ideas draw mainly from the works of Robert E. Howard, with other sources planned for expansions. Its visual presentation includes new artwork from Dark Horse artist Paul Lee, CCG artists Alex Horley and Patrick McEvoy, and legendary fantasy artist Ken Kelly.

Artwork also comes from current Dark Horse comics and classic Savage Sword covers. In Conan Collectible Card Game, every battle brings Conan closer to—or farther from—the crown, depending on how well you handle the enemies closing in.
