Concordia: Balearica / Cyprus

About this expansion

Concordia: Balearica / Cyprus is a map and fish market addition for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. Released in 2019, it presents the Balearic Islands of Maiorica, Minorica, Ebusus, and Frumentaria.

The Balearica map changes the opening situation. There is no capital city to start from, and each player begins with two ships already at sea. Land colonists are built only later in the game, and they can switch their position between the islands.

Balearica also introduces the fishmarket, which adds a new layer of planning to Concordia. Fish replace the ordinary bonus units usually collected when playing the Prefect. In provinces that failed to produce in the last round, the bonus is doubled, up to 2 fish.

• Sell fish at a separate fishmarket.
• Exchange fish for goods, cash, or special actions.
• Use the fishmarket with Balearica, the base game, or any other Concordia map.
• Play Cyprus on the opposite side of the board.

The fishmarket rewards players who plan ahead, deciding when to benefit from failed production and when to convert their catch into useful advantages. It creates additional challenges for experienced players while fitting into the wider Concordia system.

The reverse side provides the Cyprus map, included for players who missed it when purchasing Concordia: Venus. With two distinct map options and a flexible fishmarket variant, Concordia: Balearica / Cyprus expands the possibilities for your next game.
