About this expansion
Conflict of Heroes: Price of Honour – Poland 1939 is a tactical World War II expansion for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. It requires Awakening the Bear! and/or Storms of Steel!.
Set during Germany’s invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939, the game portrays the mobile tank formations, artillery, and air support that became known as the Blitzkrieg. As Polish forces retreat toward the Romanian border, a surprise Soviet attack from the East changes the situation dramatically.
Players face the same difficult tactical decisions confronting commanders during some of the war’s most ferocious engagements. The Conflict of Heroes system emphasizes fast, fluid play, with quick simultaneous action, accessible rules, and no charts, while depicting historically accurate forces and tactics.
- Two 15 × 19-inch geomorphic mounted map boards that integrate with maps from other Conflict of Heroes games
- 210 large early-war units, including armored cars, tankettes, pioneers, cavalry, biplanes, anti-tank guns, and machine guns
- A 32-page firefight book containing a historical overview and 16 firefights
- A rule book summarizing Conflict of Heroes Eastern Front units from 1939–43
The firefight book includes scenarios that can be played with Awakening the Bear! and others that can be played with Storms of Steel!. A player summary sheet and a customized plastic counter storage tray are also included.
With its early-war forces and connected geomorphic maps, Price of Honour expands the Conflict of Heroes experience while focusing on Poland’s desperate struggle against attacks from both West and East.
