About this board game

Confrontation: The Age of the RagNarok is a two-player battle game with an approximately 45-minute play time, combining the earlier Confrontation and Ragnarok games into one experience.

Instead of controlling single miniatures or massive units, each player commands several small units containing between two and fifteen miniatures. This creates a battlefield built around multiple compact formations and the distinct abilities of their fighters.

The game introduces new concepts, including Elixir Points and Tactics, while retaining familiar elements from Confrontation. Profile cards determine the activation sequence, helping establish the order in which units take their turns.

  • Designed for 2 players
  • Approximately 45 minutes of play time
  • Commands several units of 2 to 15 miniatures
  • Uses profile cards to determine activation sequence
  • Features Elixir Points, Tactics, and numerous special abilities

Players can expect a rules system that merges the scale of individual miniature encounters with the broader structure of unit-based play. The result preserves many well-known Confrontation traits while adding fresh tools for directing forces on the battlefield.

Core rules and profiles for several factions were available as free downloads from Rackham’s website. Confrontation: The Age of the RagNarok re-implements both Confrontation and Ragnarok, bringing their approaches together in a single game.
