About this board game

Conquest is a diceless ancient-world wargame for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Released in 1974, it challenges opposing sides to capture fortifications or occupy special quest locations across a colorful map.

The game uses a point-to-point movement system rather than a continuous map. Players direct a varied force that includes troops, cavalry, chariots, elephants, and ships, giving the contest an expansive ancient setting and several types of units to command.

At the heart of play is a shared pool of action points for each side. These points are used to move the different units, making the allocation of movement central to each side’s plans. With no dice involved, the focus remains on managing available actions and positioning forces across the map.

  • Diceless wargame set in ancient times
  • Point-to-point map movement
  • Action-point pool used to move units
  • Troops, cavalry, chariots, elephants, and ships
  • Objectives based on fortifications and quest locations

Conquest is available in two versions: one designed for four players and another designed exclusively for two. This gives the game a dedicated format for either a larger four-player contest or a focused head-to-head battle.

With its colorful map, plastic units, and clear territorial objectives, Conquest presents a classic strategic struggle built around movement and control. Players must use their action points to bring their forces toward the locations that determine victory.
