Cosmic Encounter: Cosmic Alliance is a 2012 expansion for 3–6 players that adds 20 alien races, new player options, and team-based play to sessions lasting about 60 minutes.

As the third expansion for the Fantasy Flight Games version of Cosmic Encounter, Cosmic Alliance brings a mix of original and classic alien races to the table. Players can stand petrified by the hideous Gorgon, puzzle over the Schizoid, or face the bionic abilities of the Cyborg.

The expansion also makes the Cosmos bigger. It adds another player, represented by the color white, and introduces rules for large eight-player games when all three expansions are owned. These additions give groups more ways to gather around the table and compete for control of the Cosmos.

• 20 alien races: Explore original and classic powers, including the Gorgon, Schizoid, and Cyborg.
• Additional player: Add a white player to the game.
• Eight-player rules: Play larger games when all three expansions are available.
• Team Cosmic variant: Join a randomly determined team of two and attempt to conquer the Cosmos cooperatively.

In the optional Team Cosmic variant, partners sit opposite each other and do not discuss their race selection in advance. Allies can occasionally offer a helping hand, and whenever a player gains a new foreign colony, that player may choose to give the colony to their partner instead.

With its expanded roster of aliens, additional player color, larger-game rules, and cooperative teams, Cosmic Alliance offers a broader way to experience the ever-changing conflicts of the Cosmic Encounter universe.
