Coup + Reforma

About this board game

Coup + Reforma is a 15-minute game for 2–10 players about hidden influence, character powers, and eliminating every opponent. Released in 2016, it challenges players to become the last person with influence remaining.

Each player begins with two coins and two face-down character cards representing their influence. The fifteen-card deck contains three copies of five different characters, and each character has a unique set of powers. On your turn, take various actions as you work to reduce your opponents to zero influence.

• Use a deck featuring five characters with distinct powers.
• Work toward eliminating every opposing player.
• Win by being the last player with a face-down character card.

The included Coup: Reformation expansion adds new cards and introduces rules for factions and team play, increasing the tension. At the start, each player must declare themselves either Catholic or Protestant, and players can target only members of the other faction.

Conversion can change those boundaries. You may convert yourself or another player by paying a charitable donation to the Treasury. However, once one faction has eliminated or converted the other, the remaining group turns on itself, ensuring that Coup + Reforma still has only one winner and no second place.
