About this board game

Craftsmen is a board game for 2–5 players that takes about 180 minutes, in which aspiring entrepreneurs compete to elevate the economy of a forgotten town.

A long time ago, this small settlement was absent from the kingdom’s maps. Seeking to change its fortunes, the mayor invites skilled and experienced candidates to prove who is best suited to lead the town toward prosperity.

Each candidate receives five loyal helpers and has three years to demonstrate their craftsmanship and business skill. During the game, players work to gain appreciation points through a range of productive and commercial decisions.

• Build production buildings.
• Create connections between those buildings.
• Produce raw materials and consumption goods.
• Buy goods outright when needed.
• Send produced goods to the farthest parts of the world.

Success depends on turning the town’s developing production into appreciation in the eyes of the mayor. Constructing buildings, linking them together, and obtaining the right goods all contribute to the effort to make a lasting impression.

At the end of the three-year challenge, the mayor decides which candidate most deserves the honorable position. In Craftsmen, the player with the most appreciation points wins, earning the chance to become the entrepreneur who transformed the once-unnoticed town.
