Crime Zoom: Bird of Ill Omen is an investigation game for 1–6 players, with each case designed to take about 60 minutes. This second Crime Zoom case brings players to Paris in 2018.

The investigation begins at a crime scene spread across multiple cards, forming one large illustration. Examine the scene by taking cards for a closer look, then follow the clues you discover. An intriguing item or an address may point you toward another card and open a new line of inquiry.

There is no fixed route through the case. In Crime Zoom, players conduct the investigation freely, discussing which tracks to follow and deciding what to examine next. The unfolding investigation depends on the clues that catch your attention.

• Explore a crime scene assembled from several cards.
• Flip cards to inspect intriguing objects and details.
• Follow addresses and other clues to uncover new cards.
• Answer questions about the culprit, motive, murder weapon, and other aspects of the case.

When you think you have solved the mystery, move to the questionnaire. You must identify the culprit, explain the motive, and determine the murder weapon, along with answering subsidiary questions. Missing the culprit means losing the game.

If your answers are correct, the number of cards you chose not to reveal determines the result. The solution addresses each question, while the epilogue presents the full story or testimony behind the plot.
