Cthulhu: A Deck Building Game is a cooperative game for 1–6 players with an approximately 120-minute play time, in which investigators research cards, wield Moxie, and strive to banish an Elder God and its minions.

The stars are aligning, and only investigators who piece together the clues from the Mythos understand the danger ahead. Work together to reduce the Elder God’s health to zero before the investigators’ health is completely depleted.

Each round unfolds across two distinct phases:

• Planning phase: Activate cards in hand, research new cards at Miskatonic University, and ready the investigators for what comes next.
• Combat phase: The Elder God and its minions attack the investigators’ health and sanity, while the investigators use Moxie to fight back.

Combat can have severe consequences. Investigators may go crazy or die, making cooperation and careful preparation essential as the supernatural assault intensifies.

Researching new cards at Miskatonic University builds your personal library and strengthens your future efforts against the Elders. However, every resource committed to research is a resource that cannot be used against the Mythos immediately.

That tension lies at the heart of Cthulhu: A Deck Building Game. Decide when to improve your library and when to commit everything to the fight, then coordinate with your fellow investigators before the Elder God overwhelms your group. Banish the threat before all investigators reach zero health, and you save your wretched existence.
