About this board game
Cupid: Tricks & Tactics is a two-player trick-taking card game with a 60-minute play time, using part of a 52-card deck.
Each trick is an evolving puzzle. The value of the trick depends on the cards played: cards may be added together, subtracted, or simply count as one point. Because the scoring changes with the contents of the trick, every card can matter in more than one way.
Both high and low cards have offensive and defensive uses, creating tension throughout the game. There is no completely safe lead unless you carefully follow what has already been played and judge when to commit your cards.
- Designed specifically for 2 players
- Uses part of a standard 52-card deck
- Trick values can be added, subtracted, or worth one point
- Rewards card management and careful tracking
- Features meaningful choices about when to give up control of the lead
Loosely based on the tale of the Roman god of desire, Cupid: Tricks & Tactics is won by the player who manages their hand effectively, remembers what has appeared, and knows when control of the lead is more valuable than holding on.
With its unusual trick values and shifting balance between offense and defense, Cupid offers a focused contest of observation and timing. Pay attention to the cards already played, adapt to the changing trick, and make each lead count.
