About this board game

Dale of Merchants 2 is a trading and stock-management board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Players take the roles of prestigious merchants competing to become Yengzuh’s next Trade Master.

To win, you must learn new techniques, trade goods, manage your stock, and be the first player to complete an astounding merchant stall. The competition tests not only your ability to trade, but also how well you respond to unexpected situations.

Set in Yengzuh, one of the world’s twelve free trade cities, the game takes place in a busy harbour founded after trade wars in Asia spread too widely. The winner earns access to the Guild of Extraordinary Traders from Dale and the opportunity to help keep global prices fair and stable.

The game includes six new decks, each introducing a distinct way to affect play:

• Crocodiles disturb other players.
• Platypuses provide more control over cards.
• Polecats introduce a die.
• Owls are moved to action by events, mostly those caused by other players.
• Fennec foxes affect every player.
• Sloths act at the start of your next turn.

Dale of Merchants 2 can be played on its own or combined with the six decks from the original Dale of Merchants. Its new four-player team-battle rules add cooperation between teammates while reducing downtime, and they can also be used with the original game’s decks.
