About this board game

DANGER: The High Voltage Game is a 30-minute card game for 2–4 players, where winning tricks is only the beginning. The real challenge is keeping the points those cards may provide until the game ends.

Each game is played over 3 rounds, with each round consisting of 8 tricks. Each player plays with 9 cards. On your turn, play one card from your hand face up in the center of the table.

You do not need to follow suit, giving every play the potential to change who wins the trick. The player who plays the highest card takes all the cards in that trick and starts the next one.

Taking cards is not automatically beneficial in DANGER: The High Voltage Game. When scoring, you only score points from the lowest card in each suit, and the game includes 4 suits. Consecutive cards within the same suit are canceled, so a collection that looks valuable can become far less useful.

  • Play with 2–4 players.
  • Play through 3 rounds of 8 tricks.
  • Play cards without needing to follow suit.
  • Win tricks with the highest card played.
  • Score only the lowest cards in each suit.
  • Cancel consecutive cards within each suit.

Every trick presents a tension between claiming cards and managing the scoring consequences. The cards you win can help your final score—or prove disastrous if they create cancellations or leave you with the wrong cards. Can you score the most points while keeping danger under control?
