About this board game
Dawn of the Zeds (Second Edition) is a solo horror-and-survival strategy game for 1 player, with cooperative multiplayer play included, and an approximate playing time of 90 minutes.
A deadly virus has transformed ordinary people into vicious, zombie-like killers known as Zeds. As the undead converge on Farmingdale and its surrounding villages, you must coordinate the town’s defenses while the National Guard organizes a relief column and fights its way toward you.
Protect the area and its inhabitants as you work to halt the Zeds’ advances. Your responsibilities include (re)killing the undead, discovering and implementing a cure, preserving the region as much as possible, and surviving long enough for assistance to arrive. Every decision puts your strategy and nerve to the test.
The Second Edition expands the experience with multiple ways to play, from a beginner-friendly Tutorial Scenario through the Classic and Walking Zeds Scenarios. Three game lengths—Short, Standard, and Campaign—let you choose the scale of your struggle.
- Four new Heroes: Wright, Kingman, Wilson, and Carter
- An additional Tunnel Track and new cards and counters
- Super Zeds unleashed by the dangerous Doctor Marteuse
- A completely new, two-sided map for each Scenario
- Large cards, colorful laser-cut counters, and all-new artwork
With its States of Siege solitaire format, Dawn of the Zeds offers a focused challenge built around defending a threatened community. The box includes 100 cards, 123 thick two-sided game pieces, two six-sided dice, a two-sided map, player aids, and quick-play materials.
