About this board game
Dead & Breakfast is a tile-laying game for 2–4 players that takes about 40 minutes, in which you build a haunted 5×5 hotel and compete to become the most successful Hotelier.
As you develop your mortifying motel, place creatures, flowers, and guests among its windows. Each turn, choose one of the available un-haunted window tiles and add it to your hotel before passing the turn to the left.
When one of your rows is complete, you can invite a guest into your hotel. A guest occupies one window and activates a specific scoring condition, creating opportunities to turn your frightening inhabitants and carefully arranged hotel into valuable points.
- Build a 5×5 hotel from window tiles.
- Fill your rooms with horrifying creatures, flowers, and guests.
- Connect certain flower types to your door using ivy.
- Use guest fears and the Bonus Scoring Tile to increase your score.
Once everyone has completed a 5×5 hotel, scoring takes place in three ways. Invite guests who fear the creatures living in your hotel, connect qualifying flowers to your door through ivy, and fulfill the conditions shown on the Bonus Scoring Tile.
The local Haunted Hardware Store is under siege by a ghastly ghoul, while other enigmatic entrepreneurs are opening terrible hostels of their own. You will need to build quickly and make clever choices to ensure your Dead & Breakfast is the best of the worst. The Hotelier with the most points wins.
