About this board game

Decktective: Nightmare in the Mirror is a cooperative investigation game for 1–6 players, with investigations lasting about 60 minutes. In this mystery, players work together to solve a case using cards, discussion, hypotheses, and deductions around a 3D crime scene.

Each player has cards containing information that may help uncover the truth. On a turn, a player chooses between two options: play a card face up on the table, sharing its information with everyone, or discard a card face down to the archive. Information on an archived card cannot be discussed until the investigation ends.

The cards also create a simple but important restriction. Every card has a value from 1 to 10, shown in its upper-left corner, and a card may be played face up only when its value is equal to or lower than the current number of cards in the archive. Deciding what to reveal and what to set aside shapes the investigation as it develops.
