Deep Future is a card-driven board game for 1–3 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes, that explores the rise and fall of civilizations across the galaxy.

Humanity has inherited the stars, but even great powers eventually fade. Players guide fledgling civilizations as they settle planets, expand their influence across sectors, invent new technologies, rediscover old ones, and confront challenges that may threaten their society.

The game offers several paths to victory within a setting shaped by the collapse of the First Sovereignty. Its history is uncertain: perhaps it fell through apathy, rebellion, or the unknowable influence of the enigmatic Xeno. Every new civilization rises among the remnants and possibilities left behind.

Deep Future is a “Make-as-You-Play” game. It begins with only a few materials, including a map, paper, index cards, and colored cubes. The remaining components are generated as they become necessary during play.

• World cards represent the planets and civilizations discovered in the galaxy.
• Technology cards record inventions and rediscoveries that shape future eras.
• Legacy cards capture the lasting impact of previous civilizations.

The included rules provide tables and guidelines for creating new cards, allowing every copy to develop its own evolving galaxy. Components added or changed in one game carry forward into later games, so the galaxy’s worlds, technologies, and history can grow across a connected campaign.
