About this board game

Deep Space D-6: Armada is a cooperative space adventure for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 90 minutes. In this standalone multiplayer sequel, players command starships defending a local cluster of planets from the hostile Federation.

Each player begins with a ship featuring unique capabilities and a basic crew. Your crew are represented by dice: roll them, then assign them to stations to perform actions during combat or complete missions. As you earn credits, you can upgrade your ship and hire advanced Heroic crew members.

Ship-to-ship combat is built around managing crew and stations under pressure. Damage can disable stations, requiring engineer actions to repair them, while injured crew need medic actions to return to duty. Ships can be customized for different playstyles, from dealing direct damage to supporting allies by disabling enemy shields and stations.

Every round moves through three phases:

  1. Planning: Travel to nearby planets, repair or upgrade ships, and hire crew.
  2. Encounter: Fight enemy fleets or resolve missions together or alone.
  3. Resolution: Resolve event cards and hazards, then bring in enemy reinforcements.

Complete missions and collect enough Data tokens to reveal the final encounter. Defeat it to win and uncover what challenge faces the Captains—and who is behind the terror.

Building on the original game’s minimalist style, Deep Space D-6: Armada adds ship upgrades, dice mitigation, missions, and cooperative gameplay. It is a standalone game and does not require the original Deep Space D-6.
