About this board game

Der Abenteuer Club is a 2022 adventure game for 2–5 players that takes about 40 minutes to play. Together, players face hair-raising challenges and try to overcome them using only a random, limited selection of objects.

Every player receives 10 random object cards. During each chapter, one player reads from the book of adventures until reaching a challenge. The player next to them then secretly chooses exactly two cards they believe are best suited to solving it.

That same player also selects three cards they consider the most unsuitable. The five cards are shuffled face down and revealed in the middle of the table, creating a puzzle for everyone else to discuss.

• Select 2 objects that could solve the challenge.
• Select 3 objects that seem least suitable.
• Shuffle and reveal all 5 cards.
• Discuss the options and identify the chosen solution.

The two selected items can additionally be written down as proof on a secret tablet. Success depends on ingenuity, logic, and a healthy dose of insanity, as ordinary objects may need to serve extraordinary purposes. The challenges invite unusual ideas, such as facing a great white shark with an iron and lipstick or creating a distraction with a disco ball and chewing gum.

In Der Abenteuer Club, the motto is “Make the best of it!” The group’s adventure ends after successfully solving five challenges or after three failed attempts, so every discussion brings the players closer to victory—or the end of the adventure.
