About this board game

DerrocAr: The Week of Five Presidents is a political card game for 1–5 players, played in about 75 minutes, set during Argentina’s turbulent weeks of 2001.

Take the role of a senator or provincial governor competing to become the next President of the República Argentina. In a country exhausted by politicians, you must present yourself as the least bad option while making your opponents look unable to manage their own provinces.

Each round begins with a strategic choice from the board. You may propose laws or decrees, make a debt payment, use an embezzlement fund, or select another available option before buying cards from the market. In the following phase, play cards from your hand to shape the political situation.

  • Carry out operations and lobbying.
  • Create conflicts with the establishment.
  • Launch damaging campaigns through the press.
  • Manage your economy while responding to changing events.
  • Negotiate short alliances with other players.

Lootings, floods, a call from Bush, and other events add further pressure as the crisis develops. The game ends when a player is declared President, and victory goes to the player with the most Support once the other players’ provinces are burdened with conflicts.

Designed by native Argentinian Bruss Brussco and published by Ion Game Design, DerrocAr recreates a peculiar episode of political history through negotiation, tactical card play, and economic decisions. Its modular system lets players choose the complexity level that best suits their group.
