About this board game

Dexikon is a deck-building word game for 1–5 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Each player starts with a small deck of versatile letter cards and uses those cards to spell words, score points, and improve their deck.

Players can spend points from their words to buy new letter cards. More expensive cards are less versatile, but they provide more points and increasingly powerful bonus effects when played. These effects can even let players interfere with their opponents, adding an interactive element to the word-building challenge.

• Bank points instead of spending them to buy cards.

Buying cards is not the only way to use the points earned from words. Points can also be banked. Once a certain number of words have been banked, every player receives one final opportunity to spell a word using their entire deck.

This final all-deck word is the closing challenge of Dexikon. After everyone has had their last chance to spell, the player with the most points wins. The result is a contest that combines word creation, deck development, card values, and carefully timed decisions about whether to expand your deck or bank your points.

Released in 2015, Dexikon offers a distinctive take on deck building by making letters the cards you acquire and words the way you generate points. Its escalating card bonuses and final full-deck word give each game a clear arc from starting letters to a decisive finish.
