About this board game
Dicht dran is a card game for 3–5 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Released in 2013, it uses cards numbered from 1 to 100 and challenges everyone to choose numbers that serve different purposes.
Each player has 8 cards. At the start of each round, a target card and a gap are presented—for example, a target of 60 and a gap from 11 to 46. Everyone selects one card and plays it face down before all cards are revealed.
The card closest to the target earns positive points. A card does not need to be the closest to be useful, however: if it falls within the stated gap, it helps its player get rid of negative points. Cards that achieve neither result leave the player drawing new cards.
- Play one card face down each round.
- Get positive points by being closest to the target.
- Reduce negative points by playing a number inside the gap.
- Draw new cards when your played number does neither.
This creates a simple choice every round. Should you aim directly for the target, or use a card that fits the gap and clears negative points? In Dicht dran, every reveal shows how the numbers compare, and the round ends as soon as one player has played their last card.
