About this board game
Die Insel is a cooperative adventure board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 45 minutes. Players take the roles of brave adventurers racing against time to save a mysterious island from a volcanic eruption.
The island is filled with danger and mystery. A looming volcano threatens the setting, while four mighty stone statues and mysterious relics are scattered across the landscape. As the eruption approaches, every move brings a new decision.
Die Insel combines cooperation with competitive elements, creating tension between the shared need to save the island and the question of whether every player has the same interest in its survival. The result is an adventure where the group faces a common threat without removing rivalry from the experience.
- A cooperative adventure for 2–4 players
- A race against time to prevent the island’s destruction
- Four mighty stone statues and scattered mysterious relics
- Electronic sound and display features
Each move is activated by touching an action space and your own playing figure. This electronic system makes every decision part of the game’s presentation, bringing new responses through sound and display as the adventure unfolds.
Released in 2005, Die Insel uses the same technology as Reiner Knizia’s electronic game King Arthur. With its threatened island, volcano, relics, and distinctive electronic support, it offers a dramatic board game experience built around urgent decisions and uncertain cooperation.
