About this board game
Die Seher von Santiiba is a 45-minute game of occult prediction for 2–4 players, released in 2020. In the Valley of the Hopeful, seers compete to advance along the scoring track while collecting cards and managing an area of uncertainty.
Each turn begins when one player rolls five dice, each connected to a different card color. Every die has three sides showing 1–3 stars and three sides showing the numbers 4–6. The other players secretly select colors, then the active player names colors one at a time.
When a named color matches another player’s choice, that player reveals it. A matching die showing stars advances their seer by the indicated number of spaces, while a die showing a number lets them take a card of that color. The active player takes either the die or the card and places it in their area of uncertainty.
- If nobody chose the named color, the active player chooses either that color’s die or card.
- Taking the less directly matching object requires the turn to continue.
- If every other player reveals their choice, everything in the area of uncertainty is lost, with only a bowl card as consolation.
- A successful turn ends when the player stops or chooses four of the five colors.
When a turn ends safely, cards move to the oracle board and the seer advances by the sum of all five dice. Players continue until someone reaches 30 victory points, triggering the card-value scoring.
In Die Seher von Santiiba, collecting cards is not enough: the player with the fewest cards of a type cannot score the neighboring type. Bowl cards break ties. Players reaching the Cloud Castle of Wisdom at space 75 win; otherwise, the seer who has advanced farthest prevails.
