About this board game

Digit Code is a deduction game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 25 minutes. Players interpret clues and make carefully considered guesses to uncover a secret six-digit digital code.

In a two-player game, each player creates a code consisting of three numbers above three numbers. Each digit from 0 to 9 can appear at most twice, and repeated appearances cannot be adjacent. The letters A–Y identify number segments in a column, a row, or within a particular digit.

Players take turns asking questions, gathering information that gradually reveals the code. The four available question types cover different aspects of its structure:

• How many spaces in a specified row or column are filled?
• Is a particular number even or odd?
• Which of two adjacent numbers is larger?
• Is the segment at a specified row and column filled?

There is an important restriction on questioning: a player must ask all four question types before repeating any one type. This encourages varied investigation rather than relying on a single kind of clue. On a turn, a player may also submit a six-digit number instead of asking a question.

A correct guess wins immediately. If the proposed code is wrong, the opponent says “Wrong,” and play continues; a player who guesses incorrectly twice loses.

With three or more players, one player creates the six-digit number while the others race to deduce it by asking questions in turn. Players who make two incorrect guesses are eliminated, leaving the remaining competitors to pursue the solution. Digit Code combines structured questioning, number comparisons, segment analysis, and the tension of deciding when to risk a final answer.
