Dixit: Journey

About this board game

Dixit: Journey is a storytelling and voting game for 3–6 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Each round, one player becomes the Storyteller and chooses a card from their hand.

The Storyteller gives a clue by telling a story, singing a ditty, or doing something else they associate with the chosen card. Every other player secretly selects one card from their own hand and gives it to the Storyteller. The submitted cards are shuffled together and revealed for the table to consider.

1. The Storyteller presents a clue connected to one card.
2. Other players secretly submit cards from their hands.
3. The cards are shuffled, revealed, and numbered for voting.
4. Players vote for the card they believe the Storyteller played.

Scoring rewards clues that are suggestive without being completely obvious. If no one or everyone votes for the Storyteller’s card, the Storyteller receives no points. If the card receives some, but not all, of the votes, the Storyteller scores based on the votes received; players also score for choosing correctly or having their submitted card attract votes.

After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most points wins. Dixit: Journey uses a simplified scoring board instead of a track built into the bottom of the game box. Its board also summarizes the rules and provides numbered spaces for placing cards during each round, making voting easier to follow.
