Dolmen

About this board game

Dolmen is a luck-free majority game for 2–4 players, with each game taking about 30 minutes. Players move druids across the board, leave stones behind, and compete to control the stone circles that emerge.

Each player has three druids to move. When a druid moves, it usually leaves a stone behind, gradually creating stone circles across the board. Whenever a player gains the stone majority within a circle, they place a dolmen with a hidden number from 1 to 4 in the circle’s center.

As play continues, dolmens form stacks throughout the board. Their positions within those stacks become important when the game ends, making every placement part of the developing scoring landscape.

• Move three druids across the board.
• Leave stones behind to help create stone circles.
• Gain stone majorities to place numbered dolmens.
• Score based on dolmen position within its stack and the size of its surrounding circle.

The game ends as soon as any player runs out of dolmens or stones. Players then score each dolmen they have placed according to its position in the stack and the size of the circle around it. The player with the most points wins.

This edition of Dolmen is a new version of eggertspiele’s Die Dolmengötter (2005), featuring new graphics and minor gameplay changes. With no luck involved, the evolving board, stone majorities, and growing dolmen stacks define each contest.
