Down in Flames: Locked-On is a fast-playing air combat game for 1–6 players, with sessions lasting about 30 minutes.

Bringing the Down In Flames system to the jet age, the game adds missile combat and range to its air battles. Modern combat has a very different character from earlier versions of the series, thanks to the sudden-death nature of one hit, one kill encounters.

Players take part in multiple campaigns spanning the 1970s through the modern day. Across these campaigns, air combat missions require players to escort strike aircraft to their target, creating a focused mission setting for high-speed jet engagements.

Down in Flames: Locked-On is designed to preserve the fast-paced feel developed throughout the Down In Flames series while using streamlined rules and an intuitive, fast-playing game system. Its aircraft roster covers several generations of iconic fighters and attack aircraft.
