About this board game
Drachen Wurf is a dice game for 2–6 players that takes around 30 minutes to play, featuring dragon tiles, colour-matching rolls, and opportunities to capture tiles from other players.
On your turn, roll all six dice and try to produce the correct colours. You may re-roll several times, but each re-roll requires you to set aside at least one die. The results determine whether you can obtain dragon tiles from the display or take them from another player.
Newly claimed dragons are not immediately safe. They remain at risk of being captured by opponents, creating an ongoing contest over the tiles in play. On your next turn, you can move those dragons into your secure layout, protecting them from further capture.
At the end of the game, points are awarded for collecting dragons according to two distinct patterns:
- Having dragons of one colour.
- Having different dragons that share the same background landscape.
These scoring conditions give the dragon collection a clear focus while the dice rolls determine the opportunities available each turn. Players must decide how long to keep rolling and when to use their results to claim or secure tiles.
Released in 2008, Drachen Wurf is part of the Schmidt Spiele Easy Play line. Its combination of dice re-rolling, exposed dragon tiles, and end-game collection scoring creates a compact game for 2–6 players.
