About this board game
Dragon Parks is a drafting game for 2–5 players that plays in about 30 minutes, challenging you to manage three dragon-nesting islands while balancing visitors and the dragons’ appetite.
Each turn, select a new transparent card and place it on one of your islands. The card can add dragons to your park or cover dragons already visible there, creating opportunities for clever choices as your islands develop.
Covering a dragon is not always safe. Some dragons hate being covered by others and will snap back at you. If you cover an egg and manage to hatch it, however, the egg attracts new visitors to your parks.
After three turns, the season ends and your islands are scored. Visitors depend on the number of different dragons visible on each island, with an additional bonus for the dragon type currently in vogue. Attracting the Legendary Dragon brings extra visitors as well.
There is also a vital resource to watch: sheep. If you have fewer sheep available than you have dragons, you lose visitors equal to the difference. Your growing collection of dragons must therefore be matched with enough sheep to keep the park’s visitors coming.
- Draft a transparent card and place it on one of your three islands.
- Resolve the effects of adding or covering dragons, including snapped-back dragons and hatched eggs.
- Score visitors at the end of each season, then continue until three seasons are complete.
When the third season ends, the player with the most visitors wins. With transparent cards, changing dragon visibility, seasonal preferences, and the constant pressure of sheep supplies, Dragon Parks turns each island into a compact puzzle of attraction and appetite.
