About this board game
Dragon Valley is a strategic negotiation and defense game for 2–4 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. In a land threatened by orc armies, goblin war machines, and flying dragons, players must prepare for a full-scale assault while competing for limited royal troops and supplies.
Each turn, a player divides a selection of items into groups. These may include knights and archers, building materials for blacksmith shops and towers, special powers, and even attackers. The other players then choose the group they prefer, leaving the remainder with the player who made the division.
This selection system creates a tense balance between generosity and self-interest. You must decide how to distribute valuable resources while anticipating what your opponents will take. The attackers themselves include dragons, orcs, and battering rams, emerging from mountain passes into each player’s lands.
- Divide groups of resources, powers, and attackers.
- Let other players select the groups they want first.
- Use special cards to interfere with opponents’ plans.
- Set up defenses, destroy attackers, or lay siege to orc strongholds.
After the dividing and choosing are complete, players use special cards to disrupt one another’s plans. The final step of each round focuses on the battlefield: players set up defenses, destroy the attackers threatening their lands, or lay siege to the orc strongholds scattered throughout the valley.
Combining resource division, player interaction, and escalating threats, Dragon Valley turns every allocation into a difficult decision. Will you strengthen your defenses, claim useful supplies, or leave rivals with dangers they cannot ignore?
