About this board game
DragonFlame is a 30-minute card game for 2–5 players in which rival dragons raid nearby towns, collect treasure, and compete for control of villages.
Each round, players take turns placing three cards onto the Castle cards in the center of the table. These cards form piles that players will later choose from, creating a clever mix of timing, tactics, and uncertainty. The pile you select also determines your turn order for the next round.
When you take a pile, place its cards in front of you for end-game scoring. Some cards offer straightforward points, while others introduce risks or powerful opportunities. DragonFire cards let you flame villages and contest them for control, potentially increasing your victory-point total.
- Build card piles by placing cards on Castle cards.
- Choose a pile for treasure while shaping next round’s turn order.
- Use DragonFire cards to challenge villages for control.
- Balance valuable treasures against cards that can cost you points.
Not every pile is safe. Because cards may be placed face down, you must read the other players and judge whether a large, tempting pile hides a penalty. Do you risk a pile packed with cards, or choose safer face-up treasures?
Treasure collection adds another layer to the final tally. You score only one type of chest, while other chest types count against you, making your choices matter throughout the game. Some treasures are also magic items with special abilities, giving DragonFlame additional surprises as players build their hoards.
