About this board game

Dune CCG is a collectible card game for 2–8 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes, set in the Dune universe. Each player leads a Minor House sponsored by one of the familiar factions, such as Atreides, while seeking recognition as a Great House and a place in the Landsraad.

Victory requires collecting both 10 spice and 10 favor. These goals create two distinct resources to pursue as players use card effects, engage in rites, and manage access to a limited supply of spice.

The game features four types of combat, called rites. Duels and Battle can help a player gain favor, while Intrigue and Arbitration provide Solaris, the game’s money. Spice can be acquired through card effects or purchased from the limited supply.

  • Duels and Battle: rites that can gain favor.
  • Intrigue and Arbitration: rites that gain Solaris.
  • Spice: acquired through card effects or bought from a limited supply.
  • Victory: acquire 10 spice and 10 favor.

With support from a familiar Dune faction and a collection of cards, each player works toward the same ambitious destination: rising from a Minor House to a Great House. The combination of resource acquisition and four different rites gives Dune CCG its central structure.

Released in 1997, Dune CCG supports a broad player range from two to eight. Online play information lists OCTGN with a direct link; CCG Workshop is also noted, though it is no longer available.
