About this expansion

Dungeon Lords: Festival Season is a large expansion for 2–4 players, with games taking about 120 minutes. It adds a fifth round to each of the two years, giving every year a new festival season alongside winter, spring, summer, and autumn.

The extra time lets you build your dungeon further, but it also gives adventurers more opportunity to gather a larger party. New monsters, rooms, and traps help you prepare for battle, while new nasty spells and sneaky bards give the adventurers additional ways to cause trouble. Each year also brings two paladins, who are ready to punish up to two evil players.

Festival Season expands the choices available when managing your dungeon. Only eight actions remain available at a time, but each season replaces one action with an alternate set of spaces offering new options.

  • Push other players toward evil instead of moving yourself toward good when visiting the city.
  • Make an investment instead of traditional gold digging.
  • Repair conquered tunnels or rooms instead of digging new ones.
  • Give your Dungeon Lord a personal pet.

These additions create more ways to develop your dungeon while introducing fresh pressures from both the city and the approaching adventurers. The changing action spaces encourage you to reconsider your plans as the seasons progress.

Dungeon Lords: Festival Season also includes the mini expansion Dungeon Lords: The New Paladins, adding another layer to the campaign’s dangerous confrontations.
