About this board game

Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Game is a 3–6 player dungeon crawl for approximately 60 minutes, released in 1999. Based on the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying system, it uses a simpler version of the rules for a focused tabletop adventure.

A Dungeon Master controls the bad guys and lays out the dungeon features as the adventure unfolds. Players take the roles of Clerics, Fighters, Rogues, or Wizards, each represented by a player character sheet. The game includes an adventure book with six adventures, giving the group multiple scenarios to explore.

Character development follows the standard D&D approach. Player characters gain experience points and can advance to the next level, creating a sense of progression across play. The included rules cover second-level characters; for level 3 and higher, the D&D Player’s Handbook is required.

The components support both the heroes and the dungeon environment, with tokens for monsters, treasures, doors, and other dungeon features. The game also includes a map, rules summary sheets, a rule book, six dice, and six character sheets.

  • For 3–6 players
  • Approximately 60 minutes of play time
  • Four character types: Cleric, Fighter, Rogue, and Wizard
  • Six included adventures
  • 89 tokens for characters, monsters, treasures, doors, and other dungeon features

With its simplified rules, recognizable D&D character classes, and experience-based advancement, Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Game offers a self-contained introduction to dungeon-crawl play while connecting to the broader D&D rules.
