About this board game
Dust Warfare: Core Rulebook is a miniatures battle game for 2–4 players, with matches lasting about 120 minutes. Set in 1947, it depicts a World War II still raging after the discovery of alien technology transformed warfare.
Players take the role of generals commanding custom-built armies of squads, combat walkers, and heroes. The Axis offers formidable might, while the Allies bring versatility, as both sides fight for VK, the rare ore that fuels their most powerful weapons.
- Command armies assembled from squads, walkers, and heroes
- Battle with advanced weapons including lasers, phaser cannons, and heavily armored war machines
- Use command points and reactions to shape the flow of battle
The game’s Command Phase creates an escalating contest over command points. Spend them early to advance and sustain an advantage, or save them for dramatic late-game effects that could turn the tide. This system gives commanders room to express different styles of play while making each decision matter.
During the Unit Phase, players can activate all of their forces. Reaction mechanisms keep you involved during an opponent’s turn: when enemy units approach or open fire, you may spend actions from your next turn to respond. Careful commanders can use these options effectively, while feints and baiting can drain an opponent’s available actions.
Designed by miniatures game designer Andy Chambers, Dust Warfare: Core Rulebook uses the same models as Dust Tactics. Its rules integrate with Dust Tactics and the Dust Tactics: Revised Core Set, connecting both games to the same range of detailed miniatures.
