About this board game

Eaten By Zombies! is a 30-minute survival horror card game for 2–4 players, challenging survivors to scavenge, fight, or flee while trying to be the last one standing.

Each turn, you leave your safehouse and face a zombie horde. Announce whether you will fight or flee, then play cards from your hand to meet the horde’s fight or flee value. Success lets you use that total as a buy value during scavenging, adding useful cards to your hand for the next turn.

Your starting cards include heavy sticks, hide cards, and sandwiches. As the game develops, you can acquire items such as shotguns, ammunition, crowbars, binoculars, fire on a stick, Grandma Pantry, and Deadeye. Played cards go to your discard pile, while surviving zombies and failed encounters steadily weaken your resources.

• Card drafting and hand management: Build a changing hand from more than thirty different cards.
• Fight or flight: Choose between defeating the horde and escaping it.
• Escalating danger: Each reshuffle of the zombie deck adds another zombie to the horde.

Failure forces you to lose cards from your hand or draw blindly from your deck. If your cards run out, you succumb and become a zombie, joining the effort to eliminate the remaining survivors. A player with six zombie cards in hand triggers a zombie victory, while depleting the entire zombie deck through successful kills allows all living players to win together.

With its mix of cooperation, competition, and dirty tricks, Eaten By Zombies! creates a tense struggle against an inevitable rise in undead power. No two games play exactly alike as survivors build up their resources while the horde slowly closes in.
