About this board game

Ebbe & Flut is a card game for 1–2 players, played in about 45 minutes, in which cards move across the playfield in cascading sequences toward a destination in the opposite corner.

The game is built around tides and their interplay: ebb and flow. Each player rules one of the tides and attempts to use it profitably while guiding cards through the evolving playfield.

Players build up cascades of moving cards. These linked movements are central to the game, as cards travel across the playfield and seek to reach the final destination. The changing relationship between the tides creates the key question: which force is stronger?

Can the land withstand the strength of the water, or will the final tide carry the day? Ebbe & Flut presents this conflict through a focused card-game system centered on movement, opposing tides, and the eventual arrival of cards at their goal.

With its theme of ebb and flow and its distinctive cascading card movements, Ebbe & Flut offers a compact setting for exploring how water and land contend across the playfield. Released in 2000, it is designed for one or two players and lasts approximately 45 minutes.
