Empire of the Stars is a fast-paced 4X sci-fi empire-building game for 2–4 players, with an approximately 90-minute play time. In the wake of the galactic emperor’s sudden death, a power vacuum gives each Planetary Duke a chance to seize the throne.

Each player controls a personal throne and sector of the galaxy, along with one of 30 asymmetric powers. Across several rounds, players explore new worlds, expand their empires, exploit precious resources and income, and confront rivals in a race to score the most galaxy tokens.

A unique action-selection system determines what happens next. Players choose among seven roles, and everyone gets an opportunity to act during each role, keeping the game moving while ensuring that all players remain involved.

With 75 unique technologies affecting industry, culture, engineering, the economy, and military might, every game offers different strategic possibilities. Combat uses a distinctive system designed to make conflicts thrilling and daring.

Once the galactic throne is taken, the game’s tension rises further: every subsequent round ticks down automatically. In Empire of the Stars, adapting your asymmetric power, choosing the right roles, and balancing expansion with conflict are key to becoming the galaxy’s dominant ruler.
