About this board game

En Route is a flip-and-write game for 1–4 players, lasting about 40 minutes, in which you create sightseeing routes through real and imaginary cities.

Across exactly 10 rounds, players connect different types of tourists to landmarks and attractions by drawing route segments. At the end of the game, each place of interest on a player’s final route awards Prestige Points according to its rules. The player who creates the most satisfying tour route wins.

Card selection in En Route is interactive rather than random. The active player plays one card face up, while the two players next to them secretly choose one card each. The active player then selects one of those two cards and discards the other, leaving two cards on the table for everyone to use.

Using coordinates and other information from the available cards, all players draw their tourists and routes. This gives players a fair degree of control while forcing them to consider what their opponents want—and sometimes negotiate so that useful cards are played.
